I find myself annoyed when I’m watching the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and he says something like, “you like that font?” referring to a comedic story title the art department came up with. It’s even more annoying when I hear designers say “oh, i love that font,” or ask “what font is that?” Maybe it’s just that I’m old school. Or just old. It seems that ‘font’ has incorrectly become synonymous with ‘typeface.’ Well, apparently I’m not alone, here’s a nice post on the Wanken Blog about it.

I remember this as one of the first things you told my graphic design class. Once the wrong word is embedded in your brain it’s awfully hard to break.
